A 73-year-old man is now dead after a crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx Wednesday, authorities say.

Officials say a 24-year-old man was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the right lane when he hit a 73-year-old man who was walking in the southbound right lane of traffic.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

The driver stayed at the scene. The identity of both the 24-year-old driver and the 73-year-old man have not been released.
