Massive amounts of garbage has Bronx parkgoers angry and demanding cleanup quicker.
Piles of garbage are spread throughout Soundview Park, something parkgoers say happens after weekend parties and barbecues.
Deborrah Wing, who takes her family to play in the park, says it never used to be like this.
“Normally the park is very clean,” Wing said.
With the Fourth of July holiday around the corner, some are worried it's going to be a mess again.
The New York City Parks Department told News 12 in a statement in part: “Soundview Park is cleaned twice daily, and cleaning crews are deployed on a staggered schedule during the summer and on holidays to ensure we are addressing trash overflow regularly....we ask New Yorkers to do their part by placing their trash in the appropriate receptacles. If there is an issue with excessive debris, we suggest they call 311.”
