A crosswalk in Pelham Bay installed by the Department of Transportation has residents frustrated because it seems to end nowhere.

The crosswalk at the corner of Roberts Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard has no sidewalk or curb cut for pedestrians on the other side. Instead, it leads walkers to a guardrail and grass.

In a statement, Bronx Community Board 10 says it continues to remind the Department of Transportation that the "crosswalk to nowhere" poses concerns. "It was removed last year at our urging," the board says. "However, the City's Transportation Department made the mistake yet again a few weeks ago. We remain in contact with the city and are hopeful its removal comes soon..."

Residents say the crosswalk is hazardous because it can leave pedestrians stranded with no way to go. They say they hope it gets fixed before an elderly person or someone in a wheelchair gets trapped on the other side when the traffic light turns green.

There is a functional crosswalk on the opposite corner with a pedestrian signal and sidewalk leading to the bridge.

The DOT tells News 12 "The crosswalk was installed in error. We will be removing it soon."
