Authorities say multiple deaths in the Bronx and Yonkers are being tied to tainted cocaine.
Police are reporting five apparent overdose deaths on the border of the Bronx and Yonkers. An investigation is underway to find what is in the tainted cocaine and who is selling it.
Officials say two middle-aged men died over the weekend in Yonkers, and three other apparent overdose incidents happened just over the border in the Bronx. All of them may be connected to the same source of tainted cocaine. Toxicology reports are expected to come back in a few weeks.
The Major Case Squad and Narcotics Unit is collaborating with the NYPD to investigate the deaths and identify whoever is responsible.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incidents to call the narcotics unit at 914-377-TIPS.
