A 17-year-old student slashed a 16-year-old classmate in front of the Soundview Educational Campus on Story Avenue, police say.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center.
Police say the attacker fled and remains at large.
The two teens got into a fight when one pulled out a knife, police say.
The Department of Education did not immediately respond to a News 12 request for comment.
Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
