Pope Francis to declare Mother Teresa a saint on Sunday
Pope Francis is set to declare Mother Teresa an official saint Sunday after a life of service to the church and poor.
The Saint Rita Sisters say relics inside the Missionaries of Charity Convent in Mott Haven showcase the time Mother Teresa of Calcutta spent there. They say once she is a canonized saint, her picture can be in churches where there can be public prayer to her.
"To have seen Mother [Teresa] in action, no matter how tired she was, if there was a need she'd be the first one there to see to it," says Missionaries of Charity Sister Ruth.
In preparation for the canonization of Mother Teresa, the sisters say they invite everyone to come pray the novena.
