Residents concerned with overgrown trees
People living on one Bronx block say huge trees are invading homes and pulling up sidewalks.
Residents living on East 229th Street say they have called 311 and Con Edison to trim the trees, but have been told it is not a priority.
Neighbors told News 12 the overgrown redwoods stretch to people's porches, get tangled up in power lines and even block street signs and lights. They say the problem is being exacerbated by the city removing parts of the sidewalk to add more trees.
The Parks Department told News 12 there is a work order from an inspection performed in June to prune a tree that's blocking a parking sign.
They say work is scheduled to be completed by Halloween.
