Residents shave heads for cancer awareness
Bronx residents are shaving their heads at a barbershop on Williamsbridge Road to spread awareness of childhood cancers.
They say this is the second time the event has been held at the shop.
Organizers say Gianna Gregoire, whose brain cancer has been in remission for four years, is the inspiration behind the event.
Gregoire's big brother, Donahue, even got a few celebrities involved in the effort. Celebrities like Knicks player Langston Galloway and rapper Jadakiss have all supported the cause.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Hopes and Heroes foundation at Columbia Presbyterian.
Gregoire says she feel blessed for her life and for her brother.
