Residents upset with trash cans removed from West 228th Street
Residents say they are concerned about the fact that four trash cans were removed from the area near West 228th Street over the weekend.
It's unclear why the cans were removed. Sanitation officials tell News 12 they are looking into the situation, but because of the holiday they won't respond to it until Tuesday.
Those in the area say the trash cans are necessary.
"This is a very busy intersection and the trash cans are often full, so we can anticipate unless they are returned that we'll have garbage everywhere," says Rev. Nathaniel Dixon.
