7h agoA sanitation truck struck a 39-year-old woman in Dyker Heights Tuesday, leaving her fighting for her life.
The accident happened just before 9 a.m.
Police say the driver of the truck was making a left turn from 73rd Street onto 11th Avenue when it struck the woman, who was crossing the street.
Both the woman and the driver of the sanitation truck were taken to the hospital.
Witnesses say the male driver of the truck appeared distraught over what happened before being taken to treatment.
The accident remains under investigation.
