A student is accused of groping and kissing his 14-year-old classmate before dragging her into the basement of the school, police say.
The incident happened on Nov. 6, at the Bronx Design And Construction Academy on E. 151st Street.
The teen told her parents a boy grabbed her breasts and buttocks in the hallway before kissing her and dragging her into the basement of the school.
Police say the incident was not reported until Nov. 9.
Parents of the teen say the school did not contact them about the incident until Wednesday and attempted to dissuade them from pressing charges against the student.
A spokesperson for the Department of Education released a statement saying, "The safety of students and staff is our top priority. The NYPD is investigating these deeply troubling allegations and the school is providing ongoing support."
The NYPD Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident and police say they are working to obtain surveillance video.
