Thousands race at Bronx Zoo to support gorillas
Thousands laced up their running sneakers in the Bronx Saturday to support a critically endangered species.
The Bronx Zoo held its seventh annual "Run for the Wild" 5K run. This year's run was in support of endangered gorillas.
The run was hosted by the Wildlife Conservation Society, and each year the run supports a different animal, all for the purpose of raising awareness and funds to protect that animal.
Wildlife Conservation Society officials say that in past years, they've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for elephants, turtles, penguins and others animals.
