On this Memorial Day many gathered all across the Bronx to celebrate the holiday's true meaning.
Veterans, families and neighbors gathered at Macina Peace Memorial Plaza to honor the men and women who have fought for our country over decades.
Participants raised the flag, sang the national anthem, and laid a wreath in memory and honoring the thousands who have served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, as well as those who continue to defend America.
This annual tradition is about remembering, honoring and teaching the younger generations how to appreciate the freedoms they enjoy.
