Surveillance video shows a suspect stealing a veteran's service dog while he is inside a store in the Bronx.
John Nevarez says he tied his service dog Chulo up outside the Associated Supermarket grocery store on Third Avenue in Morrisania Sunday around 4:30 p.m. Somebody stole the dog moments later.
The Vietnam veteran and Bronx native says he is a diabetic and that Chulo is trained to bark when his owner's blood sugar is getting low.
Surveillance video shows the moment a man walks up to the small Shih Tzu and takes him away.
Nevarez says he is willing to offer a reward to get his dog back.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
