July 11 is a difficult day for Marie Bernard – it marks the third anniversary of her son’s fatal shooting.
News 12 reported in July 2017 that, according to authorities, Rasheed and Dean Boland got into a verbal dispute with Justin Hackley, 20, and his 24-year-old friend. The dispute then turned physical and ended when one of the suspects fired several gunshots, which struck Hackley in the neck and chest.
Hackley was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At the time, he was visiting his Flatbush home from Delaware University.
Last year, Rasheed Boland was found in Lubbock, Texas near the New Mexico border. Dean Boland has not yet been apprehended.
Bernard held a vigil for her son Saturday and says she wants justice for Justin.
“It's really frustrating not being able to know where this guy is hiding because we know that he's being funded by somebody," she told News 12.
The NYPD says they have no updates on the case. Rasheed Boland is waiting for a court date.
