A community rallied against violence Tuesday following the recent shooting death of a man in Williamsbridge.
Several community leaders rallied with the group Bronx Raises Against Violence outside the home where 32-year-old Cory Mitchell was found. The group said they were spreading a message of peace, and urging others to join in.
Police say Mitchell was shot in back of a multifamily home Saturday. They say they found him with a gunshot wound to the head.
The group says that the area had gone nearly 600 days without a shooting and close to three years without a homicide before Mitchell's death.
Detectives say no arrests have been made.
