A 16-year-old was shot and killed and another teen was wounded in the Bronx on Christmas Eve, police say.
It happened at 2270 Jerome Ave. around 11 p.m. Thursday. Police say they were called to the scene for a report of a man being assaulted.
Police say upon arrival, they discovered 16-year-old Justin Morris unresponsive and suffering from several gunshot wounds to his back. They say EMS responded and pronounced Morris dead at the scene.
Police say a second 19-year-old victim was discovered close by with three gunshot wounds, and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Investigators say two groups of teens were engaged in a verbal dispute when shots were fired. Both groups then fled the scene.
No arrests have been made and police say they are still investigating.
