18ds agoThe Powerball jackpot is up to $1.8B in installments ahead of Saturday night's drawing, or $826M in a lump sum of cash.
It is the second biggest jackpot in Powerball history, trailing only the $2.04B prize from 2022. The odds of winning are one in 292.2 million.
In comparison, the National Weather Service says there is a one in 13,300 chance of being struck by lightning in a person's lifetime, one in 662,000 people in the world win an Olympic medal, and doctors have put the odds of giving birth to identical quadruplets at one in 15 million.
The drawing is at 10:59 p.m.
