Two people were found dead Sunday inside a car in an Easton pond.

Police were notified just after 6:30 a.m. that a car was in the water near the intersection of Route 59 and Church Road.

Police have not released the names of the people or any information on how the car ended up in the water.

The road was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since reopened.
