Police are investigating after two women were shot and sent to the hospital Friday night in Soundview.

Officials say the shooting occurred on East 173rd Street by Manor Avenue just before 2 a.m.

They say the 31-year-old victims were approached by two men that began firing at them.

One woman was struck in the leg, while the other suffered gunshot wounds to her back and arm.

Both women are in stable condition at St. Barnabas Hospital.

Police say another woman, carrying her 3-year-old, was hit by a car while trying to flee the scene. Both mother and son were taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where they are in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
