Mayor Adams’ hip-hop celebration continues Sunday outside the Apollo Theater

The last stop of Mayor Eric Adams’ block party series for hip-hop’s 50-year celebration is Sunday in Harlem, kicking off outside the Apollo Theater.

It's a weekend long of festivities in the Bronx in celebration of 50 years of hip-hop.

Mayor Eric Adams held a hip-hip block party Saturday on Sedgwick Avenue. Hip-hop fans and artists returned to the place where it all started to celebrate. 

There were performers spanning the five decades of the genre as well as break dancers, graffiti artist and vendors. This was all to honor the influence hip-hop has made not only in the Bronx but worldwide. 

The last stop of Adams’ block party series is Sunday in Harlem. It all kicks off at 3 p.m. outside the Apollo Theater.
