Bronx DA: Man accused of amputating part of man's finger during attempted robbery

A Bronx man has been indicted in connection to slicing off a large part of a man's index finger during an attempted chain-snatching robbery on a subway train, according to Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark.
Douglas Bond, 33, was arraigned on Feb. 20 on multiple counts of attempted robbery, assault, attempted grand larceny and more.
The incident took place on Dec. 16 at around 6 a.m. when the victim, Junior Salmon, was allegedly followed by Bond to the 125th Street station in Harlem and boarded the same 4 train heading northbound. Bond allegedly approached Salmon with a knife, stabbing and slashing him while attempting to snatch a gold chain from his neck as the train approached the 170th Street station in the Bronx.
During the altercation, Bond allegedly sliced off at least two inches of the victim's index finger.
Bond's next appearance in court is May 14.
