A new art exhibit is taking over an unused Hunts Point train station.
Return to Burn is the exhibit hitting the streets of the Bronx, tagging up the unique space with colorful art installations. It’s a revolving art show opening at BronxLandia, an event space that was once an old train station.
Graffiti legends like Skeem who’s been a key figure in the art form for four decades says he’s seen a change to New York’s graffiti culture.
“Most of the things that come out of the ghetto first get vilified and then they're deemed to be criminal activities. And then when they convince us to put them down to shy away from them, the next thing you know, they repackage it, monetize it, and then it becomes popular culture,” said Skeem.
Skeem adds that the exhibit will include paintings, videos, and other artistic mediums.
Return to Burn will be open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
