Lyft has hiked Citi Bike prices in the past. The latest hike was a 20% increase of July.
"It's difficult... might as well just keep it the same instead of changing it. Ain't nobody gonna pay it," said resident Star Brown.
Lyft told News 12 this adjustment is designed to keep up with inflation and ebike-related costs.
Frequent rider Scott Ambinder told News 12 he doesn't mind the increase.
"At the end of the day though, it still beats the alternatives. I hope that it doesn't deter anyone from getting out there," he said.
