More than a month after a five-alarm fire tore through an apartment building on Wallace Avenue, displaced residents are now being told they must leave the hotels they've been staying in.

Many say they have nowhere to go, except city shelters, an option that those with pets say isn't available to them.

Former tenants Maria and Angel say their dogs have been their biggest source of comfort since losing everything in the fire.

With few options, some families have turned to relatives for temporary pet care, but others fear they'll have to make the heartbreaking choice between a roof over their heads or keeping their beloved animals.
