Grieving family of Parkchester Navy vet speaks following arrest in road rage murder case

An arrest has been made in the murder of a Navy veteran in Eastchester, and for the first time since the incident, the grieving family of 27-year-old Keino Campbell is sharing his story.
“I just miss him so much,” cried Campbell’s aunt, Vermaline Thomas.
His mother, Suzette Thomas, says she feels trapped in a nightmare that will never end.
“I almost could not believe it was surreal to me when the doctor said that we did everything we can, but his heart was, it was shattered,” an emotional Thomas said. “That tore me apart, to know, the good heart that he had was shattered.”
Vermaline Thomas, describes her nephew as a kind and loving man who didn’t deserve such a cruel fate.
“He always said, I love you,” recalled his aunt. “He always did, that was just who he was.”

“Keino was very dedicated and focused on his vision and his goals for his life,” said Vermaline Thomas.
Police say Campbell was shot three times in the chest.
His mother said he was driving home from a car show when the shooting happened.
Police found him at the intersection of Palmer and Givan avenues, but they don’t believe that was where the actual shooting happened. Police sources say it was a road rage incident.
“They were chasing him by car, and I guess he was trying to get away,” his aunt explained.
Police say 20-year-old Michael Aracena was arrested Monday afternoon and is now facing charges of murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.
“They were able to catch one but there was two of them so we’re still seeking the other person to come to justice,” said Vermaline Thomas.
