FDNY crews respond to apartment fire in Wakefield

Multiple FDNY units and EMS crews are on the scene of an apartment fire in the Wakefield section of The Bronx

Crews responded after a report of a fire at 6:22 p.m. at 812 E. 223rd St.

The building is a three-story private dwelling. The FDNY says the fire was extinguished.

No injuries were reported. The FDNY says the fire was in the walls between the second and third floors and likely started on the second floor.

There are five apartments inside the building.
