A truck with a trailer attached burst into flames and shut down all southbound lanes approaching Webster Avenue on the Cross Bronx Expressway, according to the NYPD.
The FDNY says it was called to the scene near Exit 3 just after 3:30 p.m. Monday.
Citizen app footage taken from above the expressway shows orange flames shooting from the truck, as thick black smoke billows into the air. Firefighters were seen arriving on scene a short time later and blocked traffic on the southbound side.
According to an NYPD post on X, all lanes reopened about an hour later.
Fire officials say no one was injured.
