Following a month of not accepting non-emergency surrender pets, Animal Care Centers of New York is resuming business as usual.

For a month, the ACC advertised low-cost adoption fees and promotional events for fostering animals.
Organizers said there was an influx of adoptions, taking the pressure off of the shelters and resources.
The ACC is now accepting surrenders appointments to provide pet owners with resources, such as a pet food bank, medical vouchers and boarding vouchers, before giving up their pet.
ACC Communications and marketing director Katy Hansen said there is still an urgent need for adoptions.
Adoption fees start at $25 for adult male cats and $75 for adult dogs.
