Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani announced the names of more than 100 elected officials from all levels of government who he will work in partnership with to deliver on his affordability agenda on his Elected Advisory Committee.

Many of them met for the first time on Friday in Lower Manhattan. It consists of a wide range of top city, state and congressional officials, including Gov. Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James.

“We want to embrace a new approach to governing. To find cooperation amidst a collective that listens to differing views instead of hiding itself solely within an echo chamber," said Mamdani.

The media was not allowed to listen in on the meeting, but it appeared to consist of presentations and discussions among the mayor-elect's allies with topics ranging from goals to the appointment process. The elected officials in attendance were campaign supporters, but Mayor-elect Mamdani says he plans on broadening that reach.

"We are going to work not only with these elected officials, but frankly, with every single person that represents a district in the city," said Mamdani.

The Mayor-elect did not talk about any new updates for appointments to his administration but says there will be more announcements before the end of the year. He also says there are more than 70,000 applications ranging for entry-level to top positions.

"These are resumes that are right there at the top of the desk when we're looking at how to build this team out,” said Mamdani.

Mayor-elect Mamdani did not give a definitive answer when asked if future elected advisory committee meeting would be made public.

Mamdani will be inaugurated into office on Jan. 1.
