Neighbors in a Longwood building say a heat emergency turned their homes into an unlivable and unsafe space, leaving families cold, stressed and desperate for answers.

Johvanna Rosario says she is living with broken radiators, frozen windows, leaks and hot steam filling her apartment.

She says a lack of repairs is also impacting her neighbors, forcing them to think of creative ways to keep their homes warm at 1143 Longfellow Ave.

The building was formerly owned by NYCHA and is part of the PACT conversion project. Signs say the building is taken care of by Murphy Private Management.

When News 12 reached out to management, it said "no comment" and hung up the phone.

Wavecrest Management will be taking over the building's management by the end of 2026.
Residents say they want repairs now.
