Mom whose ceiling collapsed in Morrisania apartment says she is 'traumatized'
She says it first started as a leak, and as she was attempting to clear the room, she heard a noise she will never forget.

Quiena White, a mother of two, is pleading for answers after the ceiling in her children's bedroom collapsed in her Morrisania apartment.
Her kids weren't in the room at the time of the collapse but says the thought of them possibly being there brings her to tears.
"This is all of their belongings...they actually have to start from scratch again," says White.
She says it first started as a leak, and as she was attempting to clear the room, she heard a noise she will never forget.
"It sounded like 'boom.' I got pinned down and my son actually had to come help me, but I said 'stay back,'" said White.
This isn't the first time this has happened in her apartment. She says back in 2022, the ceiling in her living room collapsed and now she had to relive that trauma again.
"Any noise I hear I'm just screaming and asking my kids if they're OK," says White.
She says she has gotten no information from NYCHA about a transfer or when her apartment will be fixed.
"All I can do is hope and pray for something better," says White.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA, and they provided the following statement:
"NYCHA staff have made several attempts to offer the resident assistance and a temporary relocation. We will continue to reach out to this resident so that we can provide assistance."
