One small business is relocating to Clinton Hill - just six months after a massive fire tore through a warehouse in Red Hook that impacted dozens of businesses.

“We spent 10 years building up a business,” said David Singh, co-owner of Lanoba Design. “It’s a challenge every single day, and then you face the biggest challenge.”

The company lost more than 900 pieces of furniture worth about $1.2 Million.

“Everything we had [was gone],” said Lars Noah Balderskilde, co-owner of Lanoba Design. “We couldn’t save one little screw.”

But they were able to get more furniture - all imported from Denmark.

“We had originally thought that we would stay in Red Hook and go back to our old space,” said Balderskilde.

The company is hosting its grand opening this weekend at its new home located at 6 Waverly Ave. in Clinton Hill.

The expansion includes a brand-new 9,500-square-foot space.

“It’s taken a resilience,” said Singh. “It’s taken a toll physically, mentally, emotionally.”

The relocation is thanks in part to an online campaign that raised more than $62,000.

“Because of all the love and support we were shown, that gave us a kick, and that’s why we’re here today,” said Balderskilde.

The grand opening is both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
