A tan pit bull was found dragging a black leash near Clinton and Rimmon roads in Seymour Saturday night.

Woodbridge Regional Animal Control (WRAC) responded and has taken custody of the animal.

The male bully was found on the Ansonia/Seymour town line and is in extremely poor condition — severely emaciated and in need of care. WRAC is asking the public for help identifying his owner and determining who is responsible for his condition.

Desmond’s Army Animal Law Advocates is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the dog’s abandonment and state of neglect.
