New York City just narrowly avoided a residential building worker strike after a last‑minute tentative deal. The union has been pushing for higher wages, stronger benefits and relief from rising health care costs. News 12 spoke with the Service Employees International Union, Local 32BJ, President Manny Pastreich about what comes next for landlords and tenants across the borough.

New York City is deep into budget season and negotiations are still underway. Mayor Zohran Mamdani's administration has until June to present a balanced budget, and the city is working to close a $5.4 billion gap. Mamdani and the city council have taken different paths on how to do that.

Parts of the borough could soon see cleaner sidewalks as New York City adds new empire bins in more neighborhoods.
