As News 12 reported, the town is considering a new rule that would reduce the maximum footprint a home can occupy on a lot from 30% to 27.5%.
The plan comes as some residents have expressed concern about the size of new builds in recent years and how they negatively affect their own properties.
A public hearing on the proposed amendment will be held at Tuesday’s town board meeting, which begins at 10:30 a.m.
Levittown has long been known as America’s first suburb, celebrated for its iconic modest houses built in the 1940s.
Town officials tell News 12 the proposed zoning changes would bring Levittown’s regulations in line with 80% of the rest of Hempstead.
