Three alarm house fire leaves thirteen Norwalk residents displaced

Fire officials said crews encountered issues with the initial hydrant supplying Engine 5, prompting Engine 4 to secure a secondary hydrant and provide additional water to support the fire attack.

A 14-year-old resident escaped by jumping from a second-floor window and was transported to the area hospital for evaluation and treatment, officials said, with their mother being assisted out of the building by a neighbor's ladder ahead of fire officials' arrival.
Firefighters rescued a trapped dog on the first floor of the residency, with a second dog escaping the fire with the occupants prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Thirteen residents were displaced, with the American Red Cross aiding the residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Norwalk Fire Marshal's Office.
