The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed the state’s second positive case of measles in 2026.

Officials say a vaccinated Hartford County adult tested positive over the weekend at the State Public Health Laboratory. They had been experiencing a fever, cough and rash.

The resident received two doses of the MMR vaccine and is recovering at home.

The first positive case of measles this year was reported in an unvaccinated adult from Hartford County who had just returned from international travel.

The health department says the vaccinated individual was exposed to the unvaccinated adult carrying measles two weeks ago.
