The debate over kids and social media grows, as a new study shows most Americans are in support of banning social media apps.

A new Pew research survey found nearly six in 10 adults support banning social media for children under 16 years old.

The support also spans both major political parties but is strongest among adults between the ages of 30 and 49.

Researchers say that age group grew up alongside social media and has seen its impact firsthand.

The survey also showed that support for age restrictions has grown steadily over the past three years.
