A 28-year-old man was killed, and two other people were injured after a three-alarm fire spread between two Yonkers homes Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. at 13 Cedar St., a three-story wood home, according to fire officials.
While firefighters were responding, dispatchers received multiple reports of flames coming from the building.
The first crews on scene found heavy fire and launched an aggressive interior attack and search.
Officials said the fire had already spread to the neighboring building at 15 Cedar St. by the time firefighters arrived.

A 28-year-old man was removed from the original house that was on fire and later died, officials said. Two other people from the same building were taken to the hospital with injuries. All of the victims were inside the first building, where the fire started.
Those living at 15 Cedar were all able to make it out safely.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the two houses and eventually put it out. Most of the damage was concentrated in the rear portions of the buildings, according to officials.
The city's building department did condemn both buildings, but they won't be torn down. Officials say it's now up to the landlords to repair what has been damaged. Until that's complete, both homes are uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
