The 311 hotline that changed the way New Yorkers and visitors communicate issues with the city is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The hotline has received over 525 million calls, reporting on issues from trash not getting picked up to housing issues and even odd New York City sightings.
Mayor Eric Adams kicked off the anniversary with a recap of some of the most memorable calls, from New Yorkers asking if their dog can be claimed as a dependent on their taxes to checking if someone’s boyfriend is already marred.
The 311 hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
