Bronx residents hit the trails at Crotona Park Saturday for the New York Unity 5K race.
The annual event was hosted by the Crotona Running Club.
Organizers say the aim of the race is to unite Bronx residents, improve health and foster relationships with the community's police officers.
Many came out to show their support of race participants.
Organizers say the Unity 5K is for runners of all levels and a fun, free way to improve the health of the borough.
"You can run, you can walk and you can job, so it's not only running," says Abiodun Bello of the Crotona Running Club. "Get out and get active."
This year's race was the third annual Unity 5K.
