3rd former staff member sues ex-Councilman King over alleged misconduct
Another former staff member of ex-City Councilman Andy King claims he was mistreated by the politician.
Comy Lewis reportedly filed a lawsuit against King, saying that King “overworked” and “underpaid” his staff.
King was expelled from the City Council in 2020 due to ethics violations.
Lewis is the third former staff member to sue King over alleged misconduct.
In response to the current lawsuit, King’s attorney says Lewis gave “conflicting” testimony during the investigation into his client.
The attorney for Lewis, Sally Mourad-Roubeni of Levine & Blit, PLLC, stated that “the pattern of persistent discriminatory behavior displayed by defendant King is reflective of his indifference to any form of law and disregard for all human rights. King created an environment that was hostile and fearful so as to ensure that his unlawful objects were met without interference. It is unfortunate that Mr. Lewis and other staff members fell victim to such predatory conduct and unlawful retaliation.”
