A third Metropolitan Transportation Authority employee has died as a result of coronavirus.

News 12 is told Scott Elijah is the third employee to die from COVID-19 in just four days. 

Elijah posted that he was tested for the coronavirus on March 24. 

 

In a statement, TWU Local 100 President Tony Utano said in part, “ I can only wish that the support our union will bring to his family now and into the future will bring them strength in their moment of grief.” 

Elijah was also the pastor of Bethany AME Church in Yonkers.
