As the colder months approach, the demand for winter coats and essential items for migrants continues to grow.

To meet the need, 4DX, a record label in the Bronx held a coat drive at the Last Stop restaurant in Riverdale.

The organization partnered with Team TLC NYC, a nonprofit that provides rapid response support to asylum seekers.

Pierina Cordova helped organize the event. She says their goal is to collect 100 coats that will be donated.

"My parents are immigrants, they landed in New York City when they were young, seeing all of the asylum seekers outside in the streets, it's about to get cold out here, and I know everyone is in need of a coat, sweaters, anything that could cover them throughout the fall and the winter," said Cordova.

According to city data, there have been 63,000 people seeking asylum in the city as of Oct. 1.

Team TLC collects donations throughout the year.
