Five years of sending emails and making phone calls has finally paid off for one Clason Point resident who just wanted her road repaved.

As News 12 has reported, Lucille Figuereo has been pushing to get the Department of Transportation to fix Underhill Avenue. Figuereo says DOT workers did come around near Christmas and worked on some of the potholes. She says the only problem was that there were still drainage problems.

Figuereo says on Wednesday she noticed signs that read "No Parking Road Repair" set for Thursday. She says the DOT finally repaved the road.

Figuereo says she is happy that her voice was heard and encourages others to speak up and be patient.

Another issue Figuereo wants to work on is getting Underhill Avenue on the map. DOT officials told her Underhill wasn't a mapped street.
