A fire in Parkchester injured eight people, including one firefighter, according to the FDNY.

The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. on the third floor of 2143 Starling Ave. , which is a six-story building.

Officials say 60 fire and EMS personal responded. The crews contained the fire an hour later.

The Red Cross was at the scene helping 10 residents.

The FDNY says all injuries were considered minor.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
