Rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was back in the Bronx Friday, continuing to give back to his community as he has many times this year.
A Boogie held a listening party for his new album at Foot Action in Baychester. But what he wanted to talk about on his big night was the kids in the community.
"I was one of them man, I was there, I know what it's like to not really have anyone to look up to," says A Boogie.
A Boogie gave out signed merchandise to young fans. He is also collaborating with Puma Hoops on the Peace on Earth shoes. Every time a pair is purchased, $5 goes to the Trayvon Martin Foundation.
He is also active in the Garden of Dreams Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club. Puma, Foot Action and A Boogie donated $10,000 to Garden of Dreams, with some kids involved with the group sitting front row at the listening party. Those kids also got a free pair of the Peace on Earth shoes.
