An abandoned lot at Mace and Pearsall avenues is concerning the community due to the trash and the crowd that hangs out there at night.

“You have rodents, insects, garbage. There's prostitution at night and drug dealers across the street from a day care center. It's not right,” said Bobbie Brooks, a local resident.

News 12 crews found multiple bottles of alcohol, vapes, clothing, a stroller and other food waste among weeds at the lot.

Neighbors are calling for the lot to be cleaned, out of respect for the homeowners and taxpayers in the community.

City records show the MTA owns the lot.

News 12 reached out for comment. A spokesperson for the agency said crews are being sent to clean the lot.
