Local civil rights activists say they are outraged following the shooting death of a Black man in Minnesota at the hands of police. 

The death of Daunte Wright has resonated with people nationwide. According to officials, a Minnesota police officer fired a gun instead of discharging a Taser at Wright during a traffic stop. 

A rally over the fatal shooting Monday started at Grand Army Plaza and made its way to the Manhattan Bridge. 

Activists say their goal is to call for a revolution that they hope will dismantle what they call systems of oppression against people of color. 

Police originally asked New Yorkers to avoid the area because of closures, but later released an update saying the bridge was open.

The mayor of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, says the city manager has been fired following the deadly shooting.
